Words on Worship

Are you prepared to worship?

A.W. Tozer said, "The impulse to worship God originates with God, but the outworking of that impulse is our following hard after Him."  Isn't it interesting that worshiping God is made possible for us by God?  Worship is for us, but it's to Him.  This is our position in Christ…that we worship Him alone as a gift from Him alone.  Worship also requires preparation on our part, personally and corporately.  Personal worship prepares us for corporate worship, and corporate worship prepares us for personal worship. In other words, the time we spend with Jesus during the week will have a direct impact on how we...

How are we supposed to worship?

How do you worship?  Have you ever pondered that question?  As you know by now, worship is not music.  Worship is loving God.  Over the next 4 days, I would like to give you 4 elements of worship that will help us all understand how to worship God properly.  First, we must understand our position in Christ.  We will only worship God to the extent to which we understand who He is and what He's done.  Worship is all about Jesus!  So we must worship Him from a position of humble reverence as one who is truly unworthy to receive His grace and mercy.  As David Peterson said, "Worship...

We are one nation under God.  So today on this July 4, let's celebrate in peace and in unity. Let's set our differences aside and remember this freedom didn't come free.  And then, let's worship. Thank God Almighty that we have the privilege to be...

Worship Better. Worship Free

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Freedom opens the door to possibilities and opportunities.  Freedom gives us the chance to be better, to improve our position without fear and without interference.  We can thank our forefathers for this freedom.  And we can thank the many men and women who died to preserve it.  This week as we celebrate our nation's birthday, let's be reminded that our freedom is to be cherished.  Every time you get in your car to drive around town, it's because you are free to do so.  Every vacation we take, every paycheck we earn, and every investment we make is all because we have the freedom to do...
