Worship God with a Christian worldview

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

I'm trying to teach my kids to have a Christian worldview.  In other words, I want them to know their culture, be able to communicate with their culture, but no get sucked into the temptation and the sin of our culture.  I want my children to be in the world, but not of it.  This means that I must teach my children to be as Scripture says: "wise as serpents, and gentle as doves."  So in order to do this, they must explicitly know two things: what they believe, and why they believe it. I want to encourage you to teach your children what...

Enjoy worshiping God as a family

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

You've heard it said…"The family that prays together, stays together."  And honestly…it's true.  It's very hard to stay angry with each other and to fight openly when the Word of God is open before you and when you are kneeling to pray.  I want to challenge you today to regularly worship the Lord as a family.  Pick a verse that you can all learn together for the week and come up with fun ways to explore God's work in your lives. Take advantage of those moments of candid conversations so that you become the spiritual motivator of your family and a Godly example to...

Worship God with your family

I believe Jonathan Edwards was correct when he said, “Every Christian family ought to be as it were a little church."  As you know, the church exists to bring honor and glory to God.  So as Christian families, we should do same.  The church also exists to serve the community and reach out to those who don't know the Lord. It is truly a wonderful thing to have a nightly prayer time and daily devotions. This not only grows you closer together, but it also helps ground you in the word of God so that you will have strength throughout your days to...

How do you spend your time?

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

The phrase "spending time" is rich with meaning.  First of all, to spend anything means it is going to cost you something.  And time is the most expensive and important commodity we have in life.  Why?  Because every second we spend…is a moment we will never get back.  We all start life with a certain amount of time in our account.  None of us know how much time we start with, so we don't know how much time we have left. We must cherish and take advantage of every moment given to us by our Lord.  Enjoy life to its fullest and like Ephesians 5:16 says, “Redeem...
