To love God with all my mind...how do I do that?

To love God with all your mind is a difficult thing to do because our lives are so full of distractions. In fact, the average person has over 70,000 thoughts a day! If you feel like you are having a hard time staying focused, you are not the only one. So, how can we love God with all our mind? It begins with one key ingredient…discipline. Pastor A.R. Bernard says that discipline is the bridge between vision and accomplishment. Vision is the ability to see, accomplishment is the ability to get something done, but discipline is the bridge between these two things. And discipline must start in the mind. Over the last few days we have been talking about the greatest commandment…to love the Lord your God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Yesterday we talked about loving God with your whole heart, so today let's talk about loving God with your soul. Our souls are the deepest part of our nature. To which Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength." Do you know what worship is? It is that right there…to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. As you move throughout your day, remember the most important thing you can do in...

God is in the business of surprises. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown in your honor? It can be an exciting time, but it can also be a major disruption to your plans. As we begin this new year, one thing we need to remember is that God's time table operates differently than ours. God has a plan and a purpose for all of our lives, and often He surprises us with an interruption to our daily routine that will cause us to reconsider His will. However, we can prepare for it. I encourage you to live a lifestyle that draws close to Him daily, so when those...
