Words on Worship

Worship for a lifetime

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Picture yourself at 75 years old. Life is slower. The crazy pace of emails, texts, phone calls and meetings are now tucked away in your memory and now you have much more time to sit and to reflect. What kind of memories do you think you will have at that age?  What kind of relationships will you still have intact?  What sort of regrets do you think you will have?  One way to be certain you live a life that is full of adventure and void of regrets is to live each and every moment to the glory of God.  It’s amazing what happens when your...

Do distractions hinder your worship?

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Distractions are everywhere. That’s why we have to constantly remind ourselves of where are priorities lie.  Of course, our priorities should focus on the things that are most important, but sometimes distractions keep us from doing that.  I encourage you today to start with the basics.  Who are you and why are you here?  You are God’s very own and your first priority is to worship Him. Are you serving God as a worshiper?

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

The first verse of the first chapter of Joshua starts with this phrase: "After the death of Moses the servant of God…”  I love that.  Moses has just died and now has been given a title…the servant of God.  I bet if anyone knew where He was buried they would have put that on his tombstone.  But no one knows where he was buried.  You know why?  Because God Himself buried Moses.  Moses had such a close relationship with the Living Lord, that upon his death the creator of the universe personally placed him in the ground.  And it was through this faithful service that Moses grew closer to God...

Worshiping in rhythm

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

All of us live our lives to a certain rhythm.  We all have routines that we go through in things like getting dressed in the morning, working out, or heading to the office.  Our universe has a rhythm to it as well.  There is the rhythm of the tide, there is the rhythm of the sun.  There should also be a rhythm in our lives to work and to rest. We have to create space in our days in order to generate productivity in our lives.  I love what Noah benShea wrote:  “It’s the space between the notes that makes the music.”  The same rings true in our lives.  So today, take...
