All He wants, is all of you

God owns everything.  If we were to ask God in an interview what the size of His portfolio is, He would say "All of it." God owns it all. Not only that, God is over it all!  But not only that…God created it all!  In Isaiah 44:24 God reminds us: "I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by myself."  Isn't it comforting to know that the God we worship, owns and holds absolutely everything in His hands…including you…and including your portfolio.  We have to get into our minds that our money is...

Worship God with your money

It has been said there are two things in life you cannot avoid: death and taxes.  It's tax day here in America.  And I can honestly say, I do not know anyone who enjoys paying taxes, but it is our duty as citizens to do what Jesus said in Mark 12 and "give to Caesar, that which is Caesar’s."  As a result, we enjoy the rights and securities our government affords us.  However, Jesus also said, "Give unto God, that which is God's."  Which of the two is most important?  They both are, but one is temporal, and one is eternal.  It is right for us to...

Worshiping the sacrificial Savior

Yesterday was Palm Sunday, the beginning of Passion Week...the week in which Christians all over the world acknowledge and celebrate the sacrifice of our beloved Savior.  He endured that cross for two reasons: you and me.  Motivated by His love for us and the mission of His Father, Jesus willingly laid His life down as an innocent man and bore the sins of the world -past, present and future- upon His beaten and bloodied back.  My friends, if we ever had cause to worship Jesus, we should start at a hill called Golgotha, where Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, despised...

Psalm 1 says, "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful."  The word blessed means happy.  It is a reference to inward joy.  In this verse the Psalmist is clearly telling us that if we want to have a joyful life, a life that worships God, then we cannot get caught up in the gravitational pull of sin.  We must be careful not to walk into those traps that so easily beset us…whether it is a simple button on our computer, a remote in...

Worship God with your feet - wherever you go

Psalm 8 is a beautiful chapter of praise in the Bible. The Psalmist declares to the Lord, "How excellent is your name in all the earth!"  All throughout the chapter reminds us who we are, who God is, and that our meaning begins and ends with His glory.  He tells us that all of creation has been placed under man's feet.  We are God's prized possession...His masterpiece. He has given us dominion over all other things.  So, wherever we walk, we must carry this responsibility on our shoulders with discipline and integrity.  We must take care of the earth because it is God's creation.  And we...
