The Responsibility of the Worshiper

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Have you ever been caught doing wrong? Our first response is often to blame someone else for our actions. It's called transferring the blame, and we are pros at it.  But, as worshipers and free Americans, the responsibility of our actions lies squarely on our shoulders. Transferring the blame means shifting the ownership of the problem elsewhere, which in turn creates a household, or a church or a society that lacks the integrity to own up to our own failures.  As Ronald Reagan once said, "We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker.”  It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.  As worshipers, and free Americans, let's take that to heart today
