Embracing the mystery of worship

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

If you are like me, then you like things carved out for you in neat packages, plain to see, easy to understand.  Unfortunately, that is just not the reality of our spiritual condition.  Many times there is a mystery to the things of God.  Often His word is difficult to understand and His ways are hard to fathom.  But there is a verse in scripture that really helps me when I question all this.  It reminds me that, although I may not understand what God is doing or why I am going through something, He is in control and He is sovereign.  Isaiah 55:8 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts. Nor are your ways my ways.” Let’s face it, we will never fully grasp the mind of God.  He is beyond our comprehension in every way, but we CAN trust Him. And in our trusting Him, we worship Him.
