Worship the Father as His child

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

It is the natural reaction of a child, when she is afraid, in trouble, hurt, or even excited and happy, to run straight into the arms of mom or dad.  As a father, there is nothing more fulfilling than when one of my boys comes to me first with a need or a victory to tell.  In Matthew 18, Jesus tells the disciples that we are to come to Him with the humility and the guileless candor of a little child.  And there, with arms wide open, He welcomes us as our loving Father.  It reminds me of a song by Tommy Walker that I recorded a few years back.  “Lord I run to You. No one else will do.  Lord, in troubled times, I will run straight to You, though my heart and flesh may fail, you’re my ever-present help, my tower of strength, my portion evermore."
