I recently recorded a song by Matt Redman bearing the title “Jesus, Only Jesus.” In fact, I like that title so much I named the entire project Only Jesus. It will be available September 9 on iTunes. The reason I like that title is because, as a worshiper that sums up what worship should be about…only Jesus. Colossians 1 is such an awesome passage describing just how worthy Jesus is to be the sole object of our worship. Paul reminds us in this passage that Jesus is the only one who can deliver us from darkness and save us from our sin. Jesus is the very image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. He was King before time began, and will be King for all eternity. Not only does Paul remind us that all things were created FOR Jesus, but also that all things were created BY Jesus and THROUGH Jesus. Jesus is the Creator of the world! He is not just some prophet who walked the earth for 33 years and had some wise sayings. He is God in the flesh. And no one can enter heaven except through Him. So worship Jesus today. Only Jesus!
