Whatever happened to worship

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Whatever happened to worship?  It's a question A.W. Tozer asked in his popular book on the same subject.  By that, he was referencing the fact that in the modern church, with all of our resources and riches, we run the risk of losing authentic worship in our churches and also in our daily lives.  We simply have so much, that to recognize our need to live lives that are "genuine sacred offerings to God" is very difficult.  We must get past this mindset as believers that Christ saved us because He needs our help for something. God doesn't need us. WE need Him!

Here's a challenge for you. Instead of working at doing things for God today, start by worshipping Him for who He is, and you will find you spend you day serving Him out of the joy of your salvation rather than out of some self-inflicted duty.
