Worship begins with a heart of repentance

Posted by Charles Billingsley on

Over the last few days we have been making our way through the 4-step process of revival in 2 Chronicles 7:14.  We must humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and today, just a word about that last step…turn from our sinful ways. To repent literally means we make an about face…we turn from the way we were heading, and intentionally go the opposite direction. As worshipers, we must regularly confess our sins and work to stay in right relationship with the Lord so that we stay in intimate fellowship with Him. And…He is faithful and just to forgive us.  But we must always beware of the dangers of sin.  For, as my buddy Ike Reighard says, "Sin will always take you farther than you wanted to go, cost you more than you wanted to pay, and it will keep you longer than you ever intended to stay."
